I traded printed papers with 6 artists in our "Black Sweater" Group. When I got home, I really wanted to take a piece from each of them and incorporate them into a collage. Thus, this one was born!

The juxtaposition between solid prints and stripes interests me.  I was very aware of the necessary symmetry around the central line, thus the name.

I took a Composition Course and one of the "standard" compositions was a cross. I tend to gravite to this composition style.

I love working with transparent paper. You need to use a Gloss medium (as opposed to Matte) so that the underlying layers show through. The juxtaposition between the light ethereal colors and the solid gray make this so interesting.
